PET FOOD DOUGH MIXERS
High Speed, multi-purpose batch mixers featuring heavy-duty construction and components, essential for the mixing of heavier pet food dough.

Designed for pet food standards

A stainless steel mixing blade which does not require coating can be specified for abrasive doughs containing bone meal. Variable frequency drive capability provides the ability to select mixing speed at will. It means that a mixing profile can be developed to match the characteristics of each type of dough. This is particularly effective with the heavy doughs used for pet food.

Superior performance

The unique Baker Perkins shaftless mixer blade processes every type of dough. It gives optimum performance in every mixing phase. The blade allows the ingredients to move freely in the bowl to ensure rapid dispersion and efficient blending.

Automatic operation

Loading and discharge are fully automatic to reduce labour costs and mix cycle times. Three to four batches can be achieved every hour. Full discharge is achieved without manual intervention because of the 150° bowl tilt, and because there is no shaft where dough can accumulate.

Reliable operation

Major components are designed to last for the life of the machine, minimizing maintenance cost. The heavy-duty one-piece mixing blade is free of welds or crevices where cracks can start. Motor, gearbox and bearings operate within their rated capacity to ensure extended life. Carbon steel stubshafts with stainless cladding resist fatigue and corrosion.

Easy to operate and clean

PLC control with full-colour touch screen makes this an easy machine to operate. A stay clean / easy clean design, shaftless blade, negligible dough retention in the mixing bowl, and easy access minimize cleaning requirements
PET FOOD MOULDING

Robust and powerful equipment for moulding large, difficult products.

The TruClean™ 590 is primarily used for rotary moulding large, difficult products, such as pet food. The machine is stronger and more powerful to cope with the high stresses placed on components by the unique properties of pet food dough. Special reinforced roll coatings have been developed to resist abrasion. The 590 is designed to TruClean™ standards, which meet the latest industry guidelines on hygiene. It also provides the high levels of efficiency and reliability with low running costs common to all Baker Perkins’ machinery.

Low Cost of Ownership

High efficiency and precise weight control minimise waste and giveaway. Ease of cleaning, ease of use and fast changeover reduce downtime and labour. Maximum reliability with easy cleaning and maintenance keep running costs down. Independent motors on each roller and a full range of manual settings allow the machine to be adjusted for optimum performance.

Heavy-Duty Design

Pet food products are difficult to mould. They are usually large and thick, made from developed dough and include abrasive ingredients such as bone meal. Heavy-duty construction and components are necessary to handle these products at high speed. For this reason the die and feed rolls are large diameter, and the knife assembly is robust and fully adjustable, horizontally and vertically, during operation.

Designed for Hygiene

The TruClean™ 590 is designed to meet the latest industry guidelines on hygiene. Good access, few and readily removed guards, and rapid dismantling without tools results in minimum accumulation of debris, as well as easy and effective cleaning. The TruClean™ process has involved re-design from the ground up to achieve levels of hygiene in accordance with all relevant industry guidelines including the GMAs 10 Principles of Equipment Design.
PET FOOD BAKING

Flexible baking options for a full selection of pet foods.

The Direct Gas Fired (DGF) Oven is a modular oven offering great flexibility in its baking characteristics. It can handle a full selection of pet foods. High baking temperatures dry thick products rapidly and cost-efficiently. The DGF oven is well proven in applications all over the world. Its popularity is based on excellent baking characteristics and flexibility.

Flexibility

The DGF Oven is modular and offers great flexibility in its baking characteristics. The ability to combine radiant and convective heat in varying proportions along the length of the oven enables the ideal size, colour, moisture and thickness of product to be achieved. There is no interaction between extraction and turbulence systems, providing flexibility and control across a wide range of baking conditions.

High productivity

The DGF oven has been designed with the aid of sophisticated computer modelling systems to provide optimum productivity of the major components. These include burners, extraction ducts and turbulence ducts. Managing the airflow in this way gives accurate, predictable control with no edge burning effects. This ensures high product quality and minimal waste.

Easy to operate

Heating and airflow all respond in a linear manner making it easy to achieve and maintain optimum baking conditions. A touch-screen with intuitive controls, clear process visualization and full alarm management provide operators with all the information needed to run the oven efficiently. Visibility of the burners simplifies understanding of the process and facilitates control. Control options extend from a PLC with a touch-screen operator interface to a full SCADA system.

Easy to maintain

Reliable maintenance-free components are used wherever possible so routine servicing is mainly for safety reasons. Cleanout doors give full access to the whole of the chamber floor, making this hygiene task rapid and easy. There is automatic cleaning of the oven band. Everything that needs maintenance or replacement is external and accessible. Burner cleaning and maintenance can be carried out during operation.
